E&D Committee
- The Bennington County Elders and Persons with Disabilities Transportation Program Committee meets quarterly, or more often as needed, to facilitate discussion with partner organizations and the public in providing transportation services for older adults age 60 and above as well as individuals with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Green Mountain Express is the public transit provider serving Bennington County and works with the committee to ensure coordination of E&D trips with other contracted services. The goal is to provide mobility choices for seniors (60+) and people with disabilities through various funding programs helping Bennington County residents remain independent and active within their community. Through the E&D Transportation Program, trips are provided to eligible individuals for cancer and dialysis treatments, non-emergent medical appointments, adult day services, shopping, personal/social, senior meal sites, and employment.
- The committee consists of the following partner organizations, transportation providers(s), human service organizations. Appointment of committee members is by action of the committee subject to approval by vote of the committee.
